This is the state of our buildings in regards to preparedness as of March 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COMMUNITY CLUB ROOMS<\/strong><\/span> – This is the Emergency Assembly Area<\/strong>. This is where you come once it is safe to move around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The micro-grid power supply is fully functioning. When the power goes down, the building switches to battery and when the battery is depleted the generator switches on automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is an EGSC WIFI facility available – check your phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE MUD BRICK PAVILION<\/strong><\/span> – <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The micro-grid power supply is fully functioning. When the power goes down, the building switches to battery and when the battery is depleted the generator switches on automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a large capacity 4G modem that functions as long as our mobile phone network is functioning for WIFI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE MAIN HALL<\/strong> <\/span>– <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Main Hall is designated as our Emergency Relief Center (ERC) dueing a time of natural disaster. It willbe stood up at the discretion of the authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Main Hall now contains a functioning stand alone SKY MUSTER satellite uplink that provides independent wifi connectivity. Should an emergency occur a standby generator will be connected to the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is information about how to become a volunteer and what you need to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be ongoing information about progress and activities of the group. We will refer to the group as ‘MERCAG’ for short.<\/p>\n\n\n

Late in 2023 there were some meetings and workshops around volunteering to staff an Emergency Relief Center (ERC). If you attended those you are well on the way. If you did not there are some things you need to know and things you need to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of the serious nature of responding to our fellow community members in a disaster situation and in an official capacity some care is necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To become an official volunteer with an organizing and coordinating capacity you will need to jump through a few hoops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
