In terms of public liability. Our understanding is that if you are not covered by the insurance of an incorporated community organization then the public liability that EGSC has for its venues covers only the general public as audience. The organizers/participants are not covered or protected from legal action and can sue or be sued directly by (or as) injured parties. It is always our strong advice to work in partnership with a duly constituted organization. Well meaning individuals have lost everything as a result of legally unsafe practices. We strongly urge that you contact the EGSC to clarify your particular situation.
If food is supplied for sale or donation it must be prepared in accordance with food prep and handling regulation and permits and registrations must be obtained. Prepackaged products are exempt from these conditions. If the event is auspiced or undertaken by a duly constituted community organization then food trader laws and regulations do not apply providing the food is not sold and the event does not occur more than two days consecutively. Please contact relevant EGSC authorities to clarify your particular situation.
Permanent FOH speakers and foldback are now installed. A sound desk is permanently installed in the control booth with a multicore to the stage. If you wish to control your sound from the stage then you can directly plug into these speakers. Basic lighting is available. If you require dynamic lighting then you can either use the services of our in-house technician or send your proposed operator to one of our workshops (to be announced). While we do our best to supply user friendly sound equipment, use of the sound desk, in the control booth, will require an operator familiar operationally with sound equipment. Any equipment that is bought into the venue must have a current tag and tested tag for public safety and the safety of other equipment with which it interacts..This is important to us as our equipment has been damaged in the past by equipment brought into the venue and all our resources are hard won and the result of substantial effort by our committee.
Please make yourself and your fellow workers familiar with our protocols for an efficient and safe event. SEE ABOVE…
